
Gabriela Pena (she/her) is a Chilean-Spanish filmmaker, editor, and producer. Sundance Institute and Chicken & Egg Films Fellow. She founded Grieta Cine, a production company based between Valparaíso, Chile, and Barcelona, Spain. In 2024, her hybrid short film Familia, also co-directed with Picho García, premiered at the True/False Film Festival and screened at Camden IFF and DC/DOX, among others. In Chile, it received multiple jury and audience awards, including Best Short Film at SANFIC. In 2021, she directed her first documentary feature, Zoila, which premiered at SANFIC and received First Prize at FIDBA (Argentina) in the Gender and Generations Competition. She is currently focused on documentary editing and Ibero-American co-productions.
