Elaine McMillion Sheldon (she/her) is an Oscar-nominated filmmaker. Her films include King Coal (2023), Tutwiler (2020), Recovery Boys (2018), Heroin(e) (2017), and Hollow (2013), among other short films. Elaine’s work has premiered at Sundance, Telluride, Hot Docs, Full Frame, and Camerimage, and beyond. She's been nominated for 9 Emmy awards and 3 Peabody awards; she is a Creative Capital Awardee, a Guggenheim Fellow, and a United States Artists Fellow; and she was named one of the "25 New Faces of Independent Film" by Filmmaker Magazine.
